Questions & Answers

 How much does it cost?

Training has a few variables (travel, time, audience size, potential equipment costs, etc.). That said, part of our mission is eliminating the cost obstacle. Our sliding "per person" pricing frees you to buy only what's needed and make progress now. Whether you're training a single team, 10, 20, 40 or more, you'll like working with us. There's no longer a need to wait until "everyone" can train at the same time.

Offered in both onsite and public seminar formats, our presentation skills/storytelling training is different from anything else on the market. Enrollment is capped, keeping class size small. Training time is spent getting up and presenting. With real time coaching, we strip away what doesn't matter and focus on what does. Whether you're a relative novice or more expert, the growth you'll see and experience is truly eye-opening. The price? $249 per person for the one-day program. Evening and multi-day options are also available.

For those in the greater Knoxville area, we offer 60 Minute Solutions: one hour interactive workshops suitable for lunch and learns, team meetings and/or open enrollment scheduling. Check out our list of topics. Chances are you'll find just what you need. If not, tell us what you're looking for and we'll put something together. Train 20 or more for less than $25 per person.

Are you looking for a keynoter? Multiple locations? Individual coaching? Call us. We'll talk specifics and deliver cost-effective solutions that gets results. We know training, like exercising, works best when not rare. Our prices and conveniently flexible options enable you and your organization to keep the momentum going without interrupting workflow.

What is customized training?

Good question! It clearly means different things to different people. We’ll begin with a conversation and see where it goes. I’ll ask a few questions and answer yours. We’ll come to an agreement on what to cover and how, making sure it aligns with your culture, needs and goals. We can start from scratch or build upon and complement your current efforts.

Can I just get a standard program?

Yes and no. What do I mean? Sometimes a standard program is better. For example, if you simply want to provide employees an opportunity to grow skill sets, setting up a series of standard modules designed to do that is a wise choice. There is such a thing as too much customizing. That said, we’d still need to talk prior to delivery to ensure relevance.

What's the most important thing about training?

This isn’t even a close call, and I allude to it in the previous answer: relevance. Relevance takes training from just learning more to doing more and getting better results. As important as relevance is, and it is the most important thing, not being boring is pretty important. In some cases, boring doesn’t mean anything other than not fresh. Many organizations with excellent “in house” trainers bring someone in to provide fresh perspective and applications. "Covering the material" isn't enough to get desired results.

What do you think about mandatory training?

I lead sessions where people have to be there and sessions where participation is entirely voluntary. What I’ve learned over 20 years of training is it really doesn’t matter much. Once relevance is established, people are glad to be there as long as it isn't boring. I was once brought in to do a session on resolving conflict. At the end, the person who booked me came up and said, “That was great, though I am a little disappointed. The main person we wanted here didn’t choose to sign up.“ I responded, “Why didn’t the person’s boss just ask him to sign up?” She replied, “We don’t make training mandatory.”

There’s nothing magical about voluntary training. Some people enroll just to have a day away from their desks. What does work like magic is freshly engaging and relevant training.

There are many training companies. Why should we go with you?

All I can say is you'll be glad you did. We'll treat you right and deliver great training that helps you accomplish your goals. Are we perfect? No. Still, nobody does what we do at any price.
